The holidays can be a stressful time and adding the grief of losing a loved can make the situation more difficult. Those grieving should not be afraid to reach out for help.

If you are grieving the loss of a loved one and are wondering how you are going to manage the expectations, pace, and pressures of the holidays, you are not alone. Excitement, joy, anxiety, and dread are all within the range of emotions that can happen almost simultaneously during the holiday season. Add the stressor and emotional toll of coping with the loss of a loved one, you are among ‘more than a third of Americans not looking forward to the last six weeks of the year’ according to a 2022 article in Psychology Today.

If you or someone you care about is struggling with mental health or substance use issues contact Hegira Health call 734-458-4601 or visit www.hegirahealth.org.
